ABOUT SALTERRA
Your Recovery. Our Purpose.
Salterra OC Detox & Treatment is a private six-bed detox and residential treatment program in Dana Point, California, serving individuals and families throughout Orange County. Our approach combines individualized care, experienced leadership, and a comfortable residential environment designed to support clients through withdrawal, stabilization, and continued recovery.
Our sub-acute detox program provides 24/7 staff support, withdrawal monitoring, provider-directed medication management, and individualized treatment planning for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants, and other substances. Clients who need continued support after detox may transition into residential treatment within the same six-bed setting.

We believe recovery begins with trust, safety, and connection. Our vision is to be recognized as a leader in Orange County detox services, known for integrity, compassion, and excellence in care.
Why Families and Professionals Trust Salterra
Experienced Leadership
With over 20 years of behavioral health experience and more than a decade of hands-on experience owning and operating licensed detox and residential treatment programs in Orange County, California, Salterra’s leadership brings a deep understanding of the recovery process, treatment operations, and regulatory standards. That experience shapes an approach grounded in ethical care, individualized treatment, and thoughtful clinical coordination.
Personalized, Client-Centered Care

Collaborative & Comprehensive Approach
Salterra OC works closely with referring professionals, families, medical providers, therapists, case managers, and continuing-care providers when appropriate and authorized. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may also be incorporated into individualized care under the direction of a medical provider, with coordination designed to support continuity throughout detox, residential treatment, and the transition to ongoing care.
Local, Trusted & Community-Oriented
We are proud to serve the Orange County recovery community. Our leadership’s longstanding relationships with treatment professionals, hospitals, treatment centers, outpatient providers, and other community resources help support thoughtful referrals and continuity of care as clients move through different stages of recovery.
Leadership That Cares
Salina SHuler, MSW
Chief Executive Officer & Program Director
Salina Shuler’s leadership is rooted in a deeply held belief that people struggling with addiction have not lost who they are. They may have lost connection with the strengths, purpose, and possibilities that still exist within them.
Her vision for treatment is to help clients begin reconnecting with those strengths from the very beginning of care. While detox addresses the physical process of withdrawal and stabilization, Salina believes treatment should also begin restoring hope, self-worth, direction, and a vision for a different future.
With more than 20 years of behavioral health and executive experience, Salina brings extensive knowledge of addiction treatment, program development, regulatory compliance, clinical operations, and client-centered care to Salterra OC Detox & Treatment.
Salina earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, with a focus on mental health, and completed advanced Gestalt Therapy training through the Institute for Effective Psychotherapy in Malibu.
Her professional experience includes co-founding Matthew’s Path Extended Care and more than a decade owning and operating South Orange County Detox & Treatment, where she served as CEO and Program Director. Her work has included developing and operating licensed treatment programs, working closely with families and treatment professionals, and helping clients transition through different levels of care.
In founding Salterra OC Detox & Treatment, Salina created a private six-bed program where physical stabilization and meaningful recovery work begin together. Treatment is designed to recognize each client as an individual, identify the strengths and abilities that may have become obscured by addiction, and begin building on those strengths during the earliest stages of recovery.
Her vision is to create a foundation of hope and healing—helping each client move beyond simply stopping substance use and begin imagining who they can become, what their life can look like, and what is possible for their future.
